Here are some tips to help you prepare for your race day.
Eat Plenty of Carbs
Keep aside the nutrition plan you followed during your training and eat plenty of carbohydrates. Avoid food that you aren’t used to. Consuming plenty of carbohydrates will improve your endurance.
Drink plenty of water. You can also have a sports drink to get some extra electrolytes. Avoid alcoholic beverages, as they can dehydrate the body. You can also salt the food you eat the day before, as it helps the body retain water, especially in warm weather.
Rest and Relax
It is advised to rest before your race day. Don’t be anxious, think positive. You can go out for a short run, but don’t overdo it.
Do things that inspire you, like watching an inspiring movie, or reading a book.
